Kwaliteit, veiligheid, milieu, zekerheid en een strict alcohol & drugsbeleid

Kwaliteit

GBS gebruikt de vastgelegde procedures en instructie van het Kwaliteitsmanagement Systeem (KMS) als leidraad bij het handelen van directie en personeel. Dit systeem wordt in stand gehouden door interne en externe evaluatie.

De nodige mensen en middelen worden ter beschikking gesteld ten einde de doeltreffendheid van het bovenvermeld systeem te handhaven en continu te verbeteren.

Doelstellingen:

continuïteit van het bedrijf zowel op korte als op lange termijn behouden;
continue verbetering nastreven ( P-D-C-A-cirkel);
bereiken van een zo groot mogelijke serviceverlening aan onze klanten en een zo groot mogelijke efficiency bij het gebruik van de aanwezige middelen;
to comply with the wish of a growing number of our buyers and clients to coorperate ISO 9001 certified suppliers in the future to the greatest possbile extent;
aantonen dat GBS voldoet aan de wettelijke eisen en regelingen van de centrale en lokale overheden;

De bovenstaande doelstellingen tracht de directie te bereiken door:

te werken op basis van ons kwaliteitshandboek door het opzetten, invoeren, onderhouden en verbeteren van een KMS dat gebaseerd is op de ISO 9001 en de registratie en analyse van alle geconstateerde tekortkomingen in de dienstverlening. GBS stelt zich tot doel het aantal tekortkomingen waarvan de oorzaak ligt bij GBS voortdurend te verminderen.

Veiligheid

GBS houdt zich eraan als aanvulling op het Kwaliteits Management Systeem (KMS) onderstaande gedragscodes toe te voegen als uitgangspunt van ons veiligheidsbeleid. Deze gelden als leidraad bij het handelen van directie, personeel en derden die opdrachten uitvoeren voor GBS. Dit systeem wordt in stand gehouden door interne en externe evaluaties en bijsturingen.

De bemanning van GBS is verplicht te werken conform het Het Safety Management Systeem (SMS). Het SMS is bedoeld als naslagwerk in de dagelijkse bedrijfsvoering van de schepen van GBS. Door van de instructies, procedures en informatie uit het handboek gebruik te maken, is het mogelijk om op een goede, verantwoordelijke en veilige wijze te werken.

Doelstellingen:

to comply with all statutory requirements, oblogations and legislations in the fields of working conditions and safety;
not to injure people or damage property;
to consciously protect our surroundings: in other words, not causing any spills or environmental damage;
to have and control a solid, substantiated emergency plan and crisis management plan;
to always use materials and energy efficiently during our operations;
to develop our service accordingly
to play a leading role in the industry by promoting positive experiences;
to control and manage the HSSE aspects in our daily activities by means of an adjusted prevention system;
to develop a culture where all GBS employees and third parties support these basic principles.

Environment

GBS explicitly dedicates itself to the protection and maintenance of the maritime environment in which our vessels navigate. We apply strict standards to prevent pollution, we comply with legislation and we try to continuously improve our environmental measures. These codes of conduct serve as guidelines for the actions of management, personnel and third parties who carry our projects for GBS. This system is maintened by means of internal and external evaluations and corrections. Calculated and well thought-out use of transport activities for the environment, zero spills and a proactive approach to environmental matters.

Doelstellingen:

to comply with all statutory requirements, obligations and legislation in the field of the environment;
to consciously protect our environment, such as the air, water and land;
to not cause any (0) spills or environmental damage;
to have and control a solid, substantiated emergency plan and crisis management plan in the event of environmental incidents;
to always use materials and energy sufficiently during our operations;
to develop our service accordingly.
to control and manage the environmental aspects in our daily activities by means of an adjusted prevention system;
to develop a culture where all GBS employees and third parties support these basic principles.

Security

GBS implements measures or precautionary measures that are required in order to reduce theft or misuse of hardous substances as a result of which people, goods or the environment may be negatively affected. This system is maintened by means of internal evaluations.

Doelstellingen:

ADN 1.3 Training

People who work here and whose duties relate to the transport of hazardous substances must have received training in accordance with the requirements attached to their responsibilities and duties by the transport of hazardous substances. This training/extra training complies with the provisions in ADN 1.3.

ADN 1.10 Security

Proof of ID bearing a photo of every crew member is held on board during the journey.

Short and long-term operational continuity is safeguarded by notifying all members of staff involved in the transport of hazardous substances in accordance with ADN 1.10.

Alcohol-drugs and medication policy

GBS undertakes to pursue a strict alcohol, drugs and medication policy in addition to the quality management system. Disciplinary action will be taken against members of staff who violate the rules set out in this policy (drugs and alcohol in the workplace). This sytem is maintened by means of internal evaluations that follow on from periodic, unannouced checks.
